Petrified in Storyland

First made whilst artist in residence at the University of Wales, this work explores the relationship between the Welsh mythology and cultural identity. People took me to sites of folkstory, some which have barely changed in a thousand years but others are modern inventions of heritage. Inspired by the themes in Welsh storytelling such as love, loss and a fascination with a macabre, enchanted world, the work evolved into an imaginative and fantastical approach with a skeptical allusion to the legends and landscapes that define Romantic Nationalism.
